John Oyas

John Oyas completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Arizona State University. During his time as an undergraduate student, he was heavily involved in Arizona State University’s (ASU) Undergraduate Student Government and Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.John earned his Juris Doctorate at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU. During his time in law school, he was eager to learn about the law and sought training outside of the classroom. 

He gained invaluable experience through externships at the Office of the Arizona Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Division, where he researched and analyzed investigative files on complex criminal and white-collar cases. and the Arizona Supreme Court, writing and analyzing constitutional and legal issues in bills that were introduced or recently passed by the Arizona Legislature. He also proposed legislative and lobbying strategies that advanced the Court’s legislative agenda through conducting comprehensive analyses of the discussions that ensued in legislative committees and stakeholder meetings. 

His leadership qualities were recognized when he was elected as the student body president of ASU, the country’s largest public university. John’s exceptional character, contributions to ASU Law, and academic performance earned him the prestigious J.D. Dean’s Award upon graduation.

In his first two years of practice, John handled the highest number of commercial trucking cases in Arizona, representing clients in over 55 courts across the state in cases that cross State and Federal law. This extensive experience taught him that every case is unique, requiring personalized representation tailored to the specific needs and backgrounds of each client. 

John combines his legal expertise with his ability to build professional relationships with courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement, zealously advocating and delivering results.Born in Cebu, Philippines, John has an appetite for culture and knowledge. He loves travel, food, and cultures. He is fluent in multiple languages and has a strong desire to assist underserved communities, and a soft heart for immigrant communities.
