Camp Verde Jail is considered the County’s main detention center. The facility is located on Commonwealth Drive in Camp Verde, Arizona, and houses both male and female inmates who are awaiting trial and/or sentencing as well as those who are serving time for a conviction. The Camp Verde Detention Center has an inmate capacity of 644-bed jail but currently holds an operating capacity of 477 beds.

In addition to scheduled on-site visits, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office recently released a new electronic messaging system that allows persons wishing to contact inmates to initiate “email style messages” with up to six attachments. In addition, the facility allows online visitation services, which allows inmates to communicate with their loved ones through the use of video monitors.

Yavapai County’s juvenile detention facility is located at 1100 Prescott Lakes Parkway in Prescott, Arizona. The facility works on a level system that rewards positive inmate behavior and addresses negative behavior. The detention center provides educational services for the detained youth, where they are able to receive a GED and transferable credits to higher education, as well as therapeutic and physical activities year-round.
